Owners of SANDALYECI USA
Hande and John Uzun recently opened a unique hospitality furniture store called SANDALYECI USA, in Virginia. They will share their story about starting a new business linking Turkey and the U.S. and will talk about their plans to bring cutting edge production and design to the hospitality furniture market in the U.S., along with their strategy for expansion.
John and M. Hande Akmehmet Uzun have strong backgrounds in business management with many years of on the ground business experience between them. They both hold Masters degrees in Business and Economics. With a keen eye for new opportunities, they brought SANDALYECI to the U.S. and started the SANDALYECI USA operation, providing customized furniture solutions to the hospitality industry.

With over 20 years of experience in International Education and Exchange, Senem provides expertise to other university offices on international education exchange. She is active in NAFSA leadership and the Association for International Educators as the Chair of the Embassy Dialogue Committee (EDC).In addition to chairing the EDC, she also serves as a mentor for NAFSA Region 8 and is on the Trainer’s Corps for J1 Exchange Visitor Regulations and Foreign Credential Analysis.
She holds an MA in Economics from Catholic University of America.
